a few months ago, lidija hilje reached out and offered to send me a copy of her debut novel, slanting towards the sea. once i read the premise, i knew i wouldn’t want to pass it up.

what made it even better was connecting with lidija herself, who is genuinely one of the kindest, warmest people i’ve had the chance to speak with. not only did i fall in love with the book, but lidija is the kind of author who makes you want to press her novel into everyone’s hands and say, “read this. you’ll feel it too.”
